Hematologist/Oncologist Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage at Facility in Knoxville, Tennessee

A large health system is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist for locum tenens coverage.Knoxville, Tennessee is known for its' unique mix of natural beauty, outdoor adventure, and cultural attractions which makes it the perfect assignment location!The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with an average of 16 patients per day, primarily new benign hematology and follow-up visits. Active treatment patients will remain under the care of the primary physician for continuity. Inpatient coverage is occasional and only required when the designated inpatient physician is unavailable. In such cases, the covering physician may walk to a nearby hospital to consult on patients managed by hospitalists; acute leukemia patients are referred to the University of Tennessee for specialized care. Two inpatient NPs support this process by preparing patients before the physician's arrival, following a fellow-style model. Outpatient services are fully supported by three NPs, three RNs, and three MAs across three physicians. There is no evening or weekend call required at this time. The clinic uses Cerner EMR, M-Model dictation, and an AI scribe.
