Hematologist/Oncologist Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage at Facility in Putnam, Connecticut

A mid-size hospital is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist for locum tenens coverage.The facility is located in Putnam, Connecticut.This outpatient oncology and hematology position includes some inpatient consults and follow-ups, with no rounding required on weekends or holidays. The provider will see 1520 patients per day, a mix of follow-ups and new oncology and hematology cases, with flexibility based on the provider's input. The assignment is full-time and ongoing, ideally starting within 60 days of confirmation, and lasting six months or longer. Call is light and shared 1:3 on weekdays and weekends, with rare need to come in. The schedule is 3 days per week, with call taken every third week. The role is supported by a team including 2 MDs (one part-time), RNs, an APP, and other clinical staff such as a nurse manager, pharmacists, and a nutritionist. The EMR system used is OncEMR/Flatiron, and credentialing takes about 60 days. While board certification is preferred, it is not required. Candidates with an active Connecticut license are preferred, but licensing assistance is possible. Hospital privileges are required and typically take 4560 days to obtain. The need for this position arises due to increased patient volume.
