Adult Reconstruction Orthopaedic Surgeon

Optum is looking for a full-time Adult Reconstruction Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team in Beaumont, CA & Sundance, CA. The clinicians we seek are those who practice medicine with a focus on patient care, not volume. We want our clinicians to take the time needed to truly address the patient’s needs.

Position Details

  • The candidate will perform surgeries, primarily but not limited to hip and knee replacements at designated locations in Redlands, CA and Sundance, CA
  • Hours may vary depending on the case load
  • Outpatient Clinic – 8am to 5pm, Mon-Fri, 24 patients per day
  • Operating Room – 730am to 3pm or 5pm, 3 to 4 joint replacements per day
  • Includes rounding at both San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital and Redlands Community Hospital 1 to 2 days/week
  • Patient Census – mostly adults, occasional peds but on a case-by-case basis
  • Payor mix - 85% managed care; 15% FFS/PPO & Medicare
  • Weekend call coverage required

Requirements

  • Unrestricted California State Medical License
  • Candidates without a California State Medical License will be considered; however, the licensing process takes ~6 months
  • Current California DEA certificate required to start
  • BC/BE as an Orthopedic Surgeon by ABOS
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance.

Preferences

  • Fellowship trained in joint replacement
  • 5 or more years of previous experience desired in joint replacement
