Physician - Psychiatry Job in Kansas City, MO

  • They also cosign resident notes, indicating supervision and concurrence with that note.
  • Provides or assist residents and/or nurse practitioners in the process of evaluation and treatment of the psychiatric patient.
  • Staff psychiatrist providing full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients functioning independently as a member of the Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges.
  • Assumes complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation.
  • Provides appropriate and timely documentation, generally in the form of a staff progress note, in the patient's electronic record.
  • Is accountable for keeping the supervisor informed of administrative matters, professional activities, significant occurrences within the service line and identifying problem areas that should be brought to the attention of the Service Line Chief.
  • Provides supervision to residents rotating through PCT program.
  • Trains in the performance of Electroconvulsive Therapy and supervises residents in the same on a scheduled basis.
  • May be responsible for inpatient or outpatient care, graduate and undergraduate medical education, and scientific research as appropriate.
  • Finds ways to improve production or increase quality of work produced by the service line.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with rotating.
  • Forms working relationships with management, co-workers, patients, and the general public are consistently courteous, respectful, and cooperative in nature.
  • Displays a cooperative attitude and will effectively work together to implement the organization's mission and goals.
  • Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for assigned patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders.
  • Incumbent will ensure productivity is maintained at the established level for the program for which he/she is responsible.
