1. Possess board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Association,


2. Possess residency training and not less than 3 years of experience within the last 5 years as a full-time psychiatrist OR, have graduated from a psychiatry residency program within the preceding 12 months.

Must demonstrate clinical competency within the past two (2) years in the clinical discipline required and as specified by the contract and/or Task Order.At a minimum, the HCW must submit two (2) references from peers who have had experience with the applicant's practice within the past two (2) years that attest to the HCW's competence to perform the requested privileges.

Possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Successful completion of a residency program (corresponding to the specialty required by the task order) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority.

Possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in one (1) of the fifty (50) states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Hours: Services shall normally be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0730 and 1630 for an 8.5 or 9-hour period, including an uncompensated .5 or 1-hour meal break, respectively. Services will normally not be required on the day of observance of Federal holidays. The HCW shall generally be on duty for 40 hours each week, except during periods of approved leave and holidays. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services (on-site services plus approved leave and holidays) in excess of 80 hours in a two-week period.

On-Call Services. The HCW will be required to provide on-call services for inpatient consultation after hours once every eight weeks, for a period of 7 consecutive days. This will require covering the inpatient ward and conducting rounds on patients over the weekend. Schedules will be adjusted when on call to accommodate no more than 128 hours of work during the two-week period. The on-call duty is rotated with other Psychiatrists in the Mental Health Department. The HCW shall arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes of receiving a call back request.
