Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery – Central Staffing Office –

PRN for Flexibility

Oh baby! Our Women's Services departments are growing by leaps and bounds. We're looking for experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses to join our Central Staffing Office team to float to at least 3 Texas Health Resources hospitals.

Position Highlights

  • Work location: The address is based out of 612 E. Lamar, Arlington, TX 76011 and will float to a minimum of 3 hospitals.
  • Work environment: Must have flexibility to float throughout the Metroplex to a minimum of three (3) or more Texas Health Resources hospitals.
  • Under the direction of the health care provider, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients.
  • Ability to triage, labor, deliver, circulate, and recover patients in both LDR and LDRP settings. Assist with initial breastfeeding education.
  • Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis; 12-hour shifts, Varying shift, mainly between the hours of 6:30PM-7:15AM
  • Weekday, Weekend and Holiday (1 winter holiday per year required)

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required upon hire
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program required upon hire
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required upon hire
  • AWHONN – Advanced Fetal Monitoring (EFM) OR IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required upon hire
  • Three (3) Years' RN Experience with one year in the last three years as a clinical nurse in specialty area of position (Labor & Delivery RN experience) Required
  • In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will:
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
  • possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
  • have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems

Position Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• assesses the patient
• plans the care of the patient
• intervenes as appropriate
• evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
