The Emergency Department at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is looking for an experienced Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provide (Physician Assistance or Nurse Practitioner) to join the team. The NVRH ED providers see roughly 14,000 patients annually. The ED APP is responsible for complete patient care in the ED, including treatment and referrals for treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions. The NP/PA will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and refer patients using available technologies, therapeutics and diagnostics common to the ED, such as lab tests, imaging, and electrocardiograms. The ED APP may also perform procedures common to emergency medicine. The NVRH ED is open 24/7 and is staffed with an EM board certified physician at all times. In this position, your work will directly contribute to enhancing community health and encouraging wellness across the Northeast Kingdom of VT.

To be successful in this role a minimum of five years’ APP level experience in an Emergency Department is required. Critical Access Hospital experience is preferred.
* Must be currently licensed to practice with prescriptive authority in the State of Vermont. Valid VT Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner required as defined by the Vermont Nurse Practitioner Act. Physician Assistant must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program with a Vermont PA license. BLS, ACLS, and ACLS required. Additional certifications may be required depending on training and experience.
