Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital’s (NVRH) Emergency Department team is looking for a Nursing Director. The Emergency Department Nursing Director is responsible for the overall management and successful operation of the Emergency Department. The Nursing Director coordinates and evaluates the quality of nursing/patient care, financial stability and service productivity. This motivated leader will evaluate workflow and daily operations within the department, while creating a culture that ensures high quality patient care. The Nursing Director promotes harmonious and effective teamwork between physicians and nursing personnel and facilitates quality improvement processes within the Emergency Department.

To be successful in this role you should have proven leadership, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Flexibility is required in this fast-paced position. Previous experience with hiring, scheduling and coaching is preferred. In addition to RN’s the ED currently employs a variety of staff at various skill levels to include: LNAs, EMTs, AEMTs, ED Techs and Unit Clerks.

Candidates with five years’ clinical experience in an ED, previous management experience a minimum of a BSN in nursing and knowledge of Shared Governance will have the qualifications necessary to succeed in the Nursing Director role.
