Physician - Geriatric Medicine Job in Fresno, CA

  • Preference will also be shown to candidates who have active involvement in research and scholarly activities as well as experience with formal leadership training as evidenced by Chief Medicine Residency, Fellowship training in Geriatrics and/or Palliative Care Medicine, or a Master's degree.
  • Experience with electronic medical records is integral as well.

  • Responsibilities also include scheduling (or overseeing scheduling) of residents and/or medical students on inpatient teaching rotations including mentoring, teaching, evaluating, and recruiting residents and medical students.

  • Saint Agnes Medical Center (Samc) has an excellent full time employment opportunity for a Fellowship trained, Board Certified or Board Eligible Geriatric Medicine physician to join the faculty team located in Fresno, California.
  • The selected candidate will also participate in and contribute to the palliative care program treatment and training program.
  • Research, scholarly activities and leadership (including publications and presentations) related to medicine will also be expected.
  • They must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Geriatric Medicine and must be eligible to be fully credentialed as a member of the medical staff at Samc.
  • Faculty members are responsible for providing clinical care to the senior population at Samc and in regional clinics and long-term/skilled care facilities.

  • The selected candidate will be an experienced medical provider for persons aged 55-years and older.
  • Faculty members will take part in the general medical care of hospitalized patients which includes direct patient care.

  • This role includes assisting in faculty and staff recruitment, as well as faculty and staff development to ensure that geriatric curriculum is successfully delivered to the Samc medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a Geriatric Medicine physician to join the Faculty team at Saint Agnes Medical Center.
  • Candidates interested in applying for this opportunity must possess a valid State of California Physician License or have the ability to obtain license prior to start date.
  • They will assist in the full range of program development, including assisting the Internal Medicine Program Director, Family Medicine Program Director and the Director of Graduate Medical Education with design, development and staffing of the pre-clinical and clinical curriculum.
  • They will exhibit the qualities of a team player, be able to communicate effectively to all groups via oral and written communication and will be able to work as a group leader and group member.
